Who we are

About the Chapter

One part of a worldwide Catholic fraternal organization, connecting local councils throughout our area.

How the Chapter fits together

A council is the local Knights of Columbus body to which individual members belong. A chapter brings together representatives from multiple neighboring councils to support the well-being and promotion of the Order in their locality. The California State Council serves the statewide jurisdiction.

The Southern California Chapter brings together member councils in Districts 94 through 99 of the California State Council. The Chapter supports cooperation among councils, strengthens the mission and objectives of the Knights of Columbus in the local area, and advances Catholic faith, fraternity, charitable service, and community programs.

Our founder and mission

Blessed Michael McGivney founded the Knights of Columbus in 1882 to strengthen Catholic men in their faith and provide financial protection for their families. Today the Order continues that mission through the principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism.
